Celebrations are in order!!! We have received a Spill award for being one of the Top 25 Companies for Psychological Safety *of over 600 companies!
Psychological Safety is the environment where people feel comfortable expressing themselves openly, without fear. And at our agency, we have demonstrated our employees feel comfortable speaking up, whether that’s when we are sharing ideas, asking questions, voicing concerns or expressing our feelings.
Since the pandemic in 2019, Notepad has become a hybrid workplace, we combine both working in the office and wfh. Hybrid work provides our team with flexibility and supports a variety of different work schedules. But hybrid working hasn’t come without its challenges including, managing people from afar, keeping creative teams connected and checking in on our employees’ mental health and wellbeing. Managing employees’ mental health was tricky at first and it required our founder and leadership teams to rethink and expand one of the strongest proven predictors of team effectiveness: Psychological safety.
In the summer of 2022, we started to use Spill – a mental health support platform for employees. Spill offers one-off therapy sessions, proactive messaging with a therapist, as well as mental health managerial training and workshops. We host weekly team mental health check-ins ‘Pulse’, these are regular get-togethers for the whole team to take some time out to self-evaluate and check on each other. It enables us to see and provide extra help and support to members of staff who might be struggling with workload, personal circumstances, anxiety etc.
These check-ins have become a vital part of establishing and maintaining our high-performing creative teams. Recognising that allowing time for the team to share our feelings and emotions, has enabled us to create a healthy working environment where psychological safety can prosper. And that’s why we are so proud to announce that we have been awarded the top 25 out of 600 companies for best physiological safety. We will continue to provide a safe working environment so everyone can be heard and listened to. Notepad wouldn’t be what it is today without our amazing team.
