Iomart's Challenge

Founded in 1998, Iomart is one of the UK’s leading public technology companies, providing cloud computing and IT managed services for over 80,000 companies. With ambitious growth plans for the coming years and a new senior leadership team, Iomart required a refreshed approach to their brand and marketing content. One that could draw in and engage new audiences as the company shifted gears. Positioning them as a market-leading brand without any of the typical jargon or complexity their industry is known for.

Welcome to straightforward

Without the internal resources required, Iomart engaged Notepad to begin revamping the brand and its channels. Notepad’s Amplify service was identified as an immediate fit for its ability to work seamlessly with the client as an extension of their marketing team. Placing the future brand in the care of a team of expert designers and copywriters.

Together we transformed Iomart’s visual thinking, creating a bold new brand identity, a series of launch assets and an accompanying creative suite. Amplify’s overhaul of Iomart’s creative extended to; OOH and print advertising, exhibition experience, social media content and email and web design. Altogether it took 250 hours of Amplify time to convert 150 high-quality creative assets the brand could use for the foreseeable. The brand and creative direction centred around making life straightforward, providing a clear focus on making complexity simple and breathing colourful, creative life into the brand.

The end results were something Iomart were immensely proud of. Proving to be an instant hit among internal and external audiences and generating huge engagement and excitement during an important time for the company.

Iomart needed assets to cover every touchpoint of the physical and digital customer journey, with a whopping 181 new assets created and full guidelines for all future creative.

The art direction for the new Iomart brand focuses on the business’s greatest strength – its people. In a category dominated by stock imagery of connectivity and corporate high-fives, we shifted the focus to the Iomart team and it’s very happy customers. By pairing this warm and honest photography with expressive but simple illustrative marks and bold blocks of colour, the Iomart team has a system that is easy to execute across digital and physical touchpoints.
