This certification allows purpose-driven companies like ours to have a positive impact on the planet and its people. And we are only 1 in 1200 businesses with B Corp certification in the UK.
What does this entail though? Why become a Bcorp?
As a purpose-driven agency, we wanted to ensure that as we grow, our positive impact on the planet and its people did not falter. We wanted to be part of something that is committed to focusing on the environmental, social and legal accountability that all businesses should have.
We knew that being a Bcorp would hold us accountable as an organization and would continue to make us strive for positive change.
What did becoming a B Corp involve?
As well as the multitude of things that Notepad were doing before such as enhanced paternity and mental-health support for our employees, it made us strive to do more as a business. Going through the 18-month process, we were able to learn even more about the opportunities that our business has to help benefit not only our people but our communities and their environment.
Just some of the cool stuff we do as a B Corporation:
- Notepad is a paperless-first agency
- We survey our staff monthly to ensure learning and satisfaction
- All employees have access to free mental health support and also receive one paid mental health day a year
- We are committed to donating a minimum of 5% of annual company profit to a charity local to our studio
- We regularly donate time and resources to local universities to support their in-house creative industry training
- We conduct annual market salary reviews to ensure our salaries are at the top end of the market
- 100% of our team work from home 3 days per week, reducing our commuting energy and carbon footprint.
